Do Babies Need Distilled Water?

You’ve seen those jugs of distilled water in the grocery store, but you may not know exactly what it is or its usage. When water is distilled, it is heated to boiling, vaporized, cooled, condensed and collected in a way that keeps impurities from being reintroduced.1

One reason distilled water might be important to your new baby is that his immune system – the organs and cells that help protect him from infections – can take up to a year to fully develop.2 Another good reason to choose bottled distilled water is if you’re not sure your water supply is safe. And finally, if you travel with your baby, carrying bottled distilled water with you can be a good way to know the quality of the water going into his little tummy.
