Give Me a D!

Is your child among the 70% of American kids who don’t get enough vitamin D? A recent study says this lack of the sunshine vitamin could raise his risks of higher blood pressure, lower levels of good cholesterol and heart disease later in life.1 There are three ways to help your little one get enough: 1) vitamin D-rich foods such as milk, fish, egg yolks and fortified cereal,1,2  2) children’s multivitamins containing vitamin D and 3) 10-15 minutes of sun exposure without sunscreen per day.1
