Using Nursery® Water to Dilute Juices

Diluting your child’s juice with water can help prevent potential health issues that may come from drinking too much juice. Too much juice may cause an upset stomach and perhaps lead to weight problems. It may also fill your child up and cause him to lose his appetite for other nutritious foods.1 Dieticians of Canada recommends toddlers have no more than 125-175 milliliters (four to six ounces) of juice per day.2,4 Based on these recommendations, diluting your child’s juice by half with water may help reduce their total juice consumption.

Health Benefits of Drinking Water

Once your child begins eating solid foods, the benefits of water, including distilled water, will become more and more evident. Water plays an essential role in your child’s health as he grows and develops by aiding digestion, preventing constipation, transporting nutrients to cells and regulating body temperature.3,4 Adding steam distilled drinking water such as Nursery® Water to your child’s diet provides a pure and safe water source. Getting in the habit of drinking water instead of sugary juices or sodas can help your child maintain a healthy weight and avoid dehydration while playing or exercising.
